DINOS CUSTOM CYCLES WINS BIKE BUILD OFF—AGAIN
Lakewood based Dino’s Custom Cycles wins Back to Back 2004-2005 Bikers Build Off at the Colorado Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet. Three local cycle shops were competing for the honor of the bike voted on as #1 by the hundreds of spectators and fans. “It takes a year to conceptualize, design and finally build the bike because it is so unique,” remarked Jessica Guerra. She and her husband Ruben own Dino’s, which sells and services all American made motorcycles. Harley Certified and Warranty service center for Big Dog . Dino’s is innovation not imitation.
The wining bike called “TWISTED” was collaboration between Dinos for all custom parts and fabrication including but no limited to custom gas tank, exhaust, and hand controls, oil bag custom built into the swingarm, high density camera instead of mirrors, frame from Scotty Choppers in Australia, and wheels by Monster Metal. This custom will also make an appearance on the TV Show called the Apprentice that is going to air in April on the Do It Yourself Network. For the last three months Hi Noon Productions has had a part of the custom build with there cameras filming all of this build.
“In all of our years in this business, we could never have expected to win two years in a row.” To be a part of it was great already according to Ruben Guerra, “we get a lot of ideas from our customers and what they tell us they want in their own custom bikes.” Dino’s is a family owned business operating in Lakewood for over 8 years. Last Year our custom Chop Devill won a trip to Germany for the Essen Motor Show where the best of the best are shown. We also got the chance to Judge a custom motorcycle show in Belgian. Our customers include individuals from all walks of life: lawyers, bankers, and construction workers. The shop is getting more and more women who want to own and ride their own bikes and we at Dino’s are having a class to educate them on how do change their own oil and maintain their bike.
The CMSS Biker Build off was held on Saturday, January 29 th and Sunday January 30 th at the National Western Complex. Bike shops and related vendors show off their wares from t-shirts, leathers, tattoos. The two-day event attracts over 20,000 thousands of people every year it is entertaining and fun for anyone who rides or wants to ride.
